About this blog

About ten years ago I was working on-site with a large general contracting firm. I seemed to spend most of my evenings sorting through documentation and my weekends rolling up and shipping design drawings. I attribute my poor golf game to this time in my life.

Then, with a good friend and business partner, I co-founded Aconex, now a global business that helps clients in 65 countries manage information on their construction and energy projects.

I have always felt that there are a lot of similarities between building an office tower or power plant and building a business - for it to happen, people and teams need to work well together. My passion for how collaboration - particularly in the construction industry - can help deliver successful projects is as strong as it was 10 years ago (although my golf game is no better).
